Maybe he stuffed the twin RS4 intercoolers in there?

True. It rarely gets above 80 degrees here, so bigger intercoolers aren't that big of a deal to me.

Default I doubt there are more than 10 grand in mods on that car. A greedy guess would be....

almost 20k in profit. How cool would that be? I could mod S4's for a living.

Default Will they fit behind the S4 front bumper? I have little knowledge of the RS4's mechanicals, so

I'm really wondering. I thought I recall a discussion about the RS4 on this board about a year and a half ago, and people were saying that the RS4 nose was different because of the air intake for the intercooler(s), etc. Even the Speedvision S4 racecars look like they used RS4 front bumpers, and not S4 fronts. I know the RS4 front bumper fits the wider RS4 fenders, etc, and that bodywork would be more appropriate for a racing application, but I would think that for marketing reasons Audi (in North America) would have wanted the S4 race cars to look more like S4 cars, with the S4 nose.

Anyone who has in depth knowledge, please clarify for me.

With some mods to the stock bumper, they can be stuffed in there.

Default The car pictured has the stock fog lights in place. Does that matter? Also, wouldn't the car need

custom computer/ECU programming, and larger fuel injectors?
I thought there was some discussion about that at various times on this board. I came away with the thought that achieving 500hp from the S4 or RS4 engine was not so simple.
Is SlvrBullet's car overengineered?, meaning he has more mods than he needs in order to achieve 500hp?? His car seems to have been most heavily modified (by AWE, etc, etc) among those on this members of this forum. I think he talked about the need for larger fuel injectors, and custom ECU programming, etc. But I could be mistaken.

Does SpeedTech have the secret to making 500+hp in the S4 engine, and with a stock exterior appearance to the car? If so, why is this the first we are hearing about this?

Default Actually, getting 500Hp isn't that hard....

It only costs about 10 grand. New intake, down pipes, exhaust, bigger turbos, new engine managment, bigger fuel injectors, and probably larger intercoolers. Then things like a DTS, clutch, pressure plate, etc.
It may seem like alot, but when you think about your only paying 50k totall for a 500HP luxo rocket. You can hang with Porsche TT's that cost 2Xs as much.
And yes, SlvrBullets S4 is probably overdone. The car is rumored to do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. He has a water to air intercooler and he just got larger injectors. I will be interested how much more power they give the car.
And finally, there is nothing special about Speedtechs S4, except they are using Garrett turbos instead of K04's.
