60-80 roll-ons? (long)

I'm on a nice quiet 2 lane doing about 70 when i come up on a yellow ducati (996 i think could be 748 )stuck on 60. I follow him for a couple of miles--he's craning his neck so I know he know's I'm there. He's got his left hand on his hip so I decide to take advantage and scoot past in 4th. 'Course he nails it--but guess what he must have been in 6th 'cause he can't keep up by just rolling on the throttle. By the time I see him kicking it down a couple in my rear view we're doing 90 and there's a corner coming so he can't get past--after that he's gone, but not without a friendly thumb.
Turns out when I got home and looked at monthly cycle rag that top gear 60-80 roll ons for big bikes are mostly in the 4-5 second range ('cept busa's and stuff) Which got me to wondering what times s4 people are getting for 4th, 5th, 6th gear roll ons 60-80 (stock, chipped etc). I can get about 3.8 seconds in 4th.
torque--it's a beautiful thing

The S4 is REALLY fast in-gear up top...the car is already rolling so you aren't dragging it's mass from a dead stop...the gearing/hp equation is very favorable.
Some of these "I kept up with a Ferrari" or "I kept up with a Corvette" stories are certainly believable because there are a few speed regimes where the S4 nearly owns the road! The S4 is slower down low and up top but somehwere in the middle watch out!
No kidding, I passed a Z28 that was flat out (unmistakeable over his nearly open exhaust) from 10 carlengths back and walked away from him coming out of Carlsbad with my chipped tip..and THAT was a 5-speed S4! I'd estimate that was from 80-120.

...and under 100mph, it's power (torque) to weight that matters, so between 100 to 120 is where it starts to change over I presume.
