Default For some clarification why don't you ask over in the A6 forum (whatever year the 2000 is)

I'm sure that they have some A6's with the same ECU as mine 8D0 907 551 A. Because I bought my MTM chip and ECU from a guy that had it in his A6 2.7T 6speed manual. I don't recall me having to do anything with the VAG has I've had it in my car for over 3 years.

Default now that's probably true. I'm just telling him that mine came from an A6.

Maybe the ECU came out of a A6, that was chipped and something or maybe MTM uses the S4 ECU in their tuning?

Could be, dunno for sure. Native the 4B0 is for A6 and 8D0 for B5 ECU types.

Default yep! I don't know but I guess it works for either? If some one know the exact differences...

then we could understand it a little more.

Maybe we can get a "tuner" to inform us a little more on the subject?

Default Hal is correct. Look up an A6 ECU and you will find PN starts with 4B0.

I believe! But somehow this ECU will work in an A6 without any problems.
