Default I don't think you're going to get any negative feedback on them....

...they are a popular winter tire here on AudiWorld. Just be aware that the M2 is slowly being replaced by the M3, which Tire Rack has, but in very limited size selection.

Mike S does have some interesting opinions on several different snow tires, as he's tried several on his Audi and drives in the upper peninsula of Michigan. He doesn't like the M2's in deep snow.

One snow tire post by Mike S.

Default Good compromise between snow and dry conditions. Like Andy mentioned...

they may not be the greatest in deep snow(I've heard Nokians are better here), but the M2's do very well with several inches. They also don't give too much away when roads are clear(unlike the Nokians).

I'm very pleased with mine.

Default thanks alot guys... seems the only con about the dunlops is performance in deep snow...

since im near nyc... i dont think that will affect me too much... we just get a few inches here and there... and some ice... so i think the dunlops are right for me...
thanks for the help.. if u disagree.. let me know!

Default As Andy said, I am not a huge fan of the M2's. The Pilot Alpins are truly better everywhere IMHO

The pilot are better in the dry, wet and snow. Equal in sluch and on ice (neither are great in super wet snow or on ice, compared to the blizzak series).

My Pilot Alpin's have also worn better.

I would rate the Winter Sport M2's as a B+, the Pilot Alpins as an A.

What ever you get, consider getting five of them. It is nearly impossible to get an extra of ANY brand after January 15 in this country from Tirerack, Discount Tire Direct or any others. I had this problem two years ago and have an extra pilot alpin.

I would recommend the pilot alpin over the M2 every day of the week.
