Default ABS module repair thoughts................(long)

Let me preface this by saying that I'm fully aware of the service that Module Master provides and may very well go that route to repair my faulty ABS unit. However, being a DIY'er at heart I'm not quite ready to shell out $$ for something that may actually be an easy fix (with a little elbow grease and expletives). I had the chance today to see the guts of a faulty module, and although there wasn't time for a thorough investigation, my intuition says that eventually I'd find an oxidized contact, broken wire, or something of that nature. When I still had my module plugged in (currently uplugged and connectors sealed) I tried to make note of variables like ambient temperature, driving time, etc when the intermittent warning chime/light would occur. A friend, also with a bad ABS module, made similar observations, which led us to think that the thermal expansion characteristics of some component inside has something to do with the issue. Anyone else have more insight into the problem?

Default yea, I think it may be one of the relays

Take a look at my pics. Don't be a dummy like I was. Once you damage the unit by breaking it open, it isn't rebuildable. I ended up buying a new abs assy from the dealer for $1k.
