Default In realworld situations, I have seen no difference...

Used both chips in my car while "racing" a friend's S4 (2nd gear to end of 4th gear pulls from 20mph)...we swapped the ECUs back and forth. Neither could pull on the other in either situation.

What I did find out is that very minor differences in dirver input (shifting, throttle control) effected the outcome of the "races" much more than the chip.

Default You're an idiot...

Reading you talk about how you logged both cars and the X turned out slightly better doesn't mean X ownz ABT. If anything, X is just a hair faster, and if both cars were racing with X and ABT, it gets down to driver who ownz who.

Default Interesting---

I've an Autothority Chip in an 00 S4 (A-box)---
A friend at work has the ABT chip in a later build date 00 S4(M-box ???)----both vehicles have a similar array of mods---exhaust,Forge DV's, wheels, tires, suspension...
The seat-of-the-pants test yields no noticable difference between the two...
PS- back in 00 the Autothority chip was $150 cheaper than ANYONE else....

Default Re: ABT or Autothority chip?

I think I'll stick with ABT since most of what I've heard says its a smoother chip. I dont know if its worth the risk on a relatively untested s4 tuner.

Default Yeah I don't trust Autothority much either...

Their supposed "750" hp stage 5 porsche turbo doesn't have the performance to back its specs and the people that drove it said it wasn't much better than supposed 600 and 650 hp options from the various german tuners.
