ac seems to be causing excessive strain and hisses momentarily after switched off..

Default ac seems to be causing excessive strain and hisses momentarily after switched off..

Hissing from the engine bay is normal. It is just pressure equalization.

Default Best thing is to switch off the A/C compressor (go to ECON mode) a minute or two prior to shutting

down the engine. Let ambient air blow over the evaporator coil (so defeat the recirculation) and this will let the pressure equalize and reduce the chances of forming mold and mildew in the A/C system (causes that funky smell).

the hissing can also be attributed to 'car poltregeists',often found near old civil war battle sites

Default Thread jack: Anyone have that link to the specific manual to the climate control.

I'm still not sure i know what everything does. Plus i think it has a mind of its own.
