Default Accident update - Car has been in shop since July 13th...still no ETA from the shop

Rear pass door - replaced (hinges had to be redone as well)

Rear pass wheelwell cut off and replaced

Rear pass quarterpanel - replaced

Massive frame damage due to rear suspension impacting the inside of the wheelwell.

Possible coilover damage

If you want pics, let me know.

Sigh...price tag is above $15K so far. Other guys insurance is covering it, but I've been without my car for way too long. I'm so sick of my rental Ford Focus I could scream.

Default give the insurance co a call on the rental.

The rental car should be at least be somewhat equivalent to your car and insurance should cover it. When mine was in the shop I had a MB 230 Kompressor. Not equal but closer than an ford focus. Give the insurance company a call. They get very good rates. The only paid around $30/ day for the MB and it would normally have been ~100/day.

Default i am pretty sure 75 percent is a total loss?

You should get the check for total loss. Fight it until they give you the money you will win. You'll never be able to get rid of that car after someone carfax's it. Good luck

Default Well, I plan on keeping it forever anyway. It was teetering right on the edge of being totalled.

I'm glad it wasn't since I couldn't get anything that would compare for the $$$ I would receive.

Current plan is to get a daily driver (used 4Runner or Explorer), and go Stage 3 with the S4.

Default If you can total it, you should seriously consider doing so.

Then swapping your parts with another (unbent) body. Given the damage you describe, you should expect a different feel when you drive it. Another buddy of mine was rear-ended, and required a unibody rear-end weld-on. It was never the same, and he dumped it and took a bath.

Good luck.

Ask your frame man's honest opinion, then fight for what's right.

Chris
