Default Adding Mobil Delvac to 0-40 M1?

I read a post a while back about someone adding Mobile Delvac to their S4 along with 0-40 and it seemed to elminate the engine clatter that seems to be present when using 0-40. Does this really work?

Is there an issue with doing this? How much should I add and is there a specific type I should use?

Default Some folks even use straight Delvac. Try 50/50 and adjust from there.

You really can't hurt anything with any ratio.

Default You don't get the tapping noise at idle. Its not...

terrible but you can definately hear it. My car has had M1 for 52k now as well and I've noticed it since I bought the car and just assumed it was how the engine sounded. However, then I read the thread saying that by adding the Delvac to the M1 0-40 it completely eliminated the noise. I think I'm going to give it a try and see how it works.

Default Mine has had the clatter regardless of oil used - some result in less clatter than others...

M1 0w-40 seems like a good choice for winter usage and noise reduction. My dealer used to put in 15w-40 dino for the provided oil changes and this didn't result in any less noise. M1 0w-30 resulted in more noise than the 0w-40, adding M1 15w-50 didn't reduce the noise all that much per my experience (did this only during the hottest summer months). My Passat w/ 2.8L 30V makes the same noise, virtually identical in volume and pitch as the 2.7tt.
