Default Advice for anyone buying wheels/tires: get them road force tested BEFORE you put them on your car!

As some of you may know, I recently bought Flik Artic wheels in a bundle package with Toyo T1-S tires for my S4. Been having vibration trouble that was not present with my stock wheels/tires. After having it balanced twice to no avail, it was determined either the tire or the rim is out of round using a Hunter wheel balancer with road force measurement. Basically, it has a big roller that comes down and presses on the tire as it spins and it is able to measure variation in road force. The same machine can also measure run-out in the tire and the wheel.

Very cool and highly recommended. I won't buy a wheel/tire combo again without having them road force tested before they are shipped and testing them myself before they go on the car!

http://www.gsp9700.com</a

My father bought tires from Tirerack for his car and after having some vibrations the techs at Porsche found that the tires had "excessive road force." Tirerack exchanged them for new ones without any argument.

Default My tires were 12, 26, 26, and 34 pounds on the road force test...

I assume the place I purchased them from will exchange the tires but I'm pretty sure I'll get screwed out of the shipping cost to send them back. A big, BIG hassle in any case!
