Advice needed on buying used mod...
Met somebody tonight who is trading in his S4 for a GTI. By chance, see him at the dealer when he is turning it in. I mention I have an S4 and he offers to sell me his rear sway (Neuspeed I think), Koni's with coilovers, CF engine cover....think that is it.
Now, I wasn't planning on mods this soon, but I don't want to pass up a great deal.
1. What is a reasonable price for used suspension pieces. (he said he'd sell it for half of what it cost him....so again, what is reasonable?)
2. Should I be worried about any of these pieces?
3. (sorry for the really stupid question) what should I expect from Koni's, coilovers and a sway bar. My assumption is firmer ride, better cornering, etc.
Replies greatly appreciated

I've bought and sold a lot of stuff, mainly on audiworld classifieds
My opinion is that these items are so over-engineered that buying them used is fine. I recently bought a rear sway bar and stoptech brakes used from the classifieds. I've also bought and sold 3 ecu's (well, I've sold 2, I'm keeping the MTM until I die). Fact is, buying used is smart and rarely would you compromise quality.
I couldn't not comment on the Koni's as I have no experience here. The Carbon Fiber engine cover? That's show, not go and I have no experience with that either. A fair price for the sway bar is about $100 and the Koni's I would suspect $800 or a tad more.

nope. But I think he had the SPP Intrax setup...good setup
i think half price is pretty fair. They arent parts that will show much wear in the time he had them....hint hint, I had the mod'd blacks4 in town

Aha! So are you still down here or have you moved on from B-town???(m)
I met a student here from Chicago with a black S4 near Runciple (sp?) Spoon. He didn't seem to know much about mods that day. Wasn't you was it? He had a 2001.5 or older (new badge).
Also, if you're not in Bloomington, are you close to Indy? We've drummed up enough support for an Audi club.
