Advice needed - if you were me, and could get 40K for my car, would you sell?

I'm just curious - I think the car is getting to the point in mileage where I either need to sell it, or keep it for a long time and not expect to fetch a high premium for it.
Also, there aren't any other cars I'd prefer over my car anywhere near the 40K range. The C4S is about the starting point of cars that I'd rather have. But, I am starting my own company right now, and having cash to invest wouldn't be a bad thing.
So, what would you guys do? Don't worry about whether 40K is plausible or not.

because IIRC you have something like 75k miles right? but, obviously, you would not be able to find anything like it for $40k. if you are starting your own business and need the money, i would sell it for $40k, no less, and pick up an '02 S4 with low miles, use the rest of the $$ for business. but i can't believe you are thinking of selling it already,,you haven't had it for very long have you?

they want to bail when milage gets high or they think they're not going to get enough money selling it later. Why do you mod the hell out of a car and then after it's done think about what it does to the resale value. Like many others have said here, moding does not increase value of the car. If you like it, keep it. If you don't, dump it.

Guy on 6speed who is selling his super modded Turbo said he might be interested in my car. It does have high mileage (80K), but the interior is basically new and I've done a lot to basically bring the car back to newish status.
The 40K range is tricky - not many cars around there that I like. STI, Evo, no thanks. Used M3 would depreciate a lot. Used 996 C2 isn't fast enough. Pretty tricky ;-).

Sometimes I absolutely love it - the sound, the power, the looks, it all feels right. Then other days I hate it. I would guess a fair amount of people have that relationship with their car though, so it's not unusual.

I haven't done any less to this car than most people on this forum have done to theirs. Tuning, suspension, short shifter, new interior, new grill, tint, etc.

it and have even a little bit of intention of selling it, then sell it and just concentrate on your new business. You can get a nice car later on once your business takes off. What kind of business are you starting by the way?
