Default Advise on buying a 2001 S4 Avant 6spd
I'm currently searching to replace my 1990 V8 Quattro with a 2001 (or 2002) S4 Avant 6spd. What are the key factors to inquire about with these cars? Anyone selling theirs? I'm in Northern Virginia.

Default I'd imagine you'd want low miles, no (or few) mods, and Audi Certified.
Unless you're planning on modding the car, in which case ignore the last bit about Audi Certified.

I've seen alot that have between 30k and 40k miles on them. I'd prefer no mods...but a chip would be ok if it's a popular chip. Audi certified is a big plus, but probably adds a premium to the price. Gotta be an Avant too.

u just missed my car then...picked it up 3 weeks ago in Nothern Va...only 32k miles and Audi Assured till 100k ;-P

I believe you will want to stick with a 2001 1/2 or newer. There were some worthwhile changes. You can search this forum for more details.
