Yes, you read that correctly. Simmply and the crew at Wicked Motorsports has done what no other mechanic could do: get my car in perfect working order.
Most of you are familiar with the problems I've had....blown K04's, a couple blown up engines, and those damn Crankshaft position sensor and misfire DTC's that wouldn't go away just to name a few.
Hopefully Mike will chime in on this thread to give more details, as I'm mechanically challenged and only understood half of what he told me, but the list of problems he found was amazing. Here's just a few that I remember:
Cracked intercooler hard pipe
Boost leak from the turbo housing itself
Crushed Fuel line
Multiple Boost leaks
Many improper clamps
Missing/improper bolts (some metric, some not lol)
and the root cause of pretty much every problem I've ever had:

.
.are you ready for this?

A prototype flywheel
An improperly machined flywheel, not to mention missing pins for the outside ring. Now you're asking how could a flywheel cause all these Crankshaft position sensor and misfire DTC's?
Here's where I learned something: the car gets it's timing from 2 sources, the timing belt up front AND a sensor at the flywheel (Mike can give a better technical explanation here). With a poorly machined flywheel, it could never get the right timing set, so no matter what adjustments were made at the timing belt, it could NEVER be set properly, and to get it close to working right, the timing had to be severely retarded.
So for 4 years my car has never been running right. And most of the other problems he found have been there this long also. All the mechanics that have previously worked on this car never took the time to dig deep and find the root cause of all these problems, they just did cosmetic fixes to get it out of their shop, hence the never ending saga of my car in and out of the shop.
Mike's attention to detail is amazing, and I finally see why everyone talks so highly of him on these forums. He is a true miracle worker.
Not only did he fix all my problems, but also upgraded the car to a 2001.5...no more F-hose, better heads, etc. He went above and beyond what I could have ever expected, and gave me rediculously low costs as well.
I have a couple shops about 15 minutes from my house, but now that I've seen what a truly good mechanic can do, I will always be driving 1.5 hours to Wicked Motorsports. The peace of mind knowing everything will be done right is priceless.
I'm really hoping Mike will chime in on this thread, there was a LOT more problems that I don't understand well enough to describe well lol, but the list of what he fixed is HUGE.
Oh, and not to mention that the car is so much better now that it's working properly that the 91 program now feels like the 100 octane race program used to feel like....Simmply amazing (pun intended).
And so, my undying gratitude goes out to Mike and the entire crew at Wicked Motorsports.

- as it only appears to have been an issue for those of us who experimented with LWFWs that were faulty, this issue is not well known but you are next to me at least the second person who had timing issues (my issue was better in that it was so bad the car would violently stall and I was fortunate that I could hear "something" wrong in the bell housing) - it was Dave Norton at SPEC that diagnosed this problem almost 3 years ago for me

wantaS4: just looked under the car
wantaS4: looks like oil is leaking from the intercooler (or possibly the radiator's oil color), the oil filter, the oil cooler lines, and the steering rack
