is there something that uses the batt while the hood is open. I have a compustar but it was disabled while the car's been siting. I made sure not to leave any lights on. Any ideas.hope to get my new hood this week, at last.

The remote control receiver is the big consumer. On my Porsche it will shut off after about 5 days to conserve power. Then you have to use the key. But the S4 doesn't do this (to my knowledge).
When the alarm is running the motion sensors use a lot of power. But if the alarm is actually off then I would think that they are not using power.
On the Porsche, the dealers commonly give away trickle chargers with the new car. If you don't plug the car in then the battery will be dead after about three weeks. The alarm comes on automatically and will drain it. Plus, who really wants to leave the car without the alarm on -- or with a dead battery so the alarm isn't on? My Posche is in storage right now and is plugged in.
When I leave the Audi I will probably get a trickle charger for it though be ware, all trickle chargers aren't created equal.
