Default Aftermarket Catalytic converter okay? recommendations?

I have a 2001 S4 and two codes tripped: One oxygen sensor internal resistance too large, second, warm up CAT bank 2 efficiency below threshold. Factory CAT is 1,490 plus labor and tax here in Microsoft land. $400 plus tax for Sensor.

I saw online some CAT's for around $450. You can't see them so I don't care if they don't match, I just don't want my engine light coming on. Can anybody recommend a good brand?

General comments? Thanks.

Default I *think* that is the pre-catalytic converter. If that's the case, just remove them both for a nice

bump in power as well as reduced heat affecting the oil in the turbos. It's probably 350 bucks to do it properly. You'll still pass emissions without them as they are there for the Europeans.

Default *ding* lots of money to chase CEL's. For $1400 you could get a

good second hand dp/cat/catback system too...installed.

Achtuning quoted $2,195 on a "current promotion" to put in downpipes etc...

But then I heard that doing that could set engine codes off and then I would have to chip the car. I don't race and it is a triptronic. The only time I get on it is when I pass a drooler on the freeway.

Seattle/Bellevue prices are insane for car repair. $130 hr shop rates are common.

I don't see a Magnaflow listed for a 2001 S4-not available?

Default The one code is for your O2 sensor. Replace O2 sensor and recheck. Warm up cat code may be related.

Also, if you have aftermarket DPs, then warm up cat codes can show up with cold weather.
