All this phallic competition over whose car is faster has gotten quite boring and irritating.

I said a few months ago, this is a sign of the changing ownership of S4's. As used ones drop in price, you get a different crowd buying them...
Same thing happens with most high-end sports or sporty cars...
It seems there's a painful middle-age range with cars that are like this, then it settles back down into the old-timers who really love the cars, once this sort of crowd gets bored and moves onto a new car.

for big money. We've now seen two kits that back up the claims. Either way we're now getting some facts out now. We can sit and bicker with each other over the results but here they are... results. Seeing these two cars beat to death in 90+ deg in TX is pretty validating that these two kits are robust.
How do you curtail the maturity level of an internet forum? I too miss the the EdP and JimDe discussions... welcome to the soap opra AW has become.

I'm not going to write up a DP install FAQ in 2003 if it was already done 2 years ago. Now we're not interested in the little stuff, which we seem to have down, we're all about pushing the limits of our cars. I'm not personally, I like it at 2+, but I understand others who do (and have the cash to do it)...and I think this is a perfect place for that. What's so bad about what these guys are doing? Isn't comparing mods on cars a good use for a forum like this?

I am one of those people who, albeit inadvertantly, has spent way too much money on my car. It wasn't spent in the quest for having the fastest S4, nor for bragging rights in the quarter mile. I did it b/c every time I put my foot down on the go pedal, it sends chills down my spine. There are faster S4's out there, but honestly, I don't care. I have faith in the tuner I chose - indeed, my car is as smooth and as linear as stock - but I know that the life expectancy of a highly tuned car is far less than that of a stock car. I love driving my car, and I hope that with diligent care, I will be able to keep driving (and enjoying) it for many years to come.

a few runs on a hot day are far from being an indication of reliablity.
Those were cool videos, but they are really more about entertainment than anything else

They are robust, but at what cost to the wallet and to the engine? They are running near 19 psi to redline on pump gas to be so robust.
This is not a good thing.
