Default All season tires for Montana?

I need a new set of "summer" tires for my 2001 S4 Avant. The roads are pretty rough here and I drive on a fair bit of gravel so I'm looking for a good, quiet tire (that can handle occassional snow in June or September) and that is more oriented towards comfort over performance.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

John

Toyo Proxes 4 or FZ4. I had an older version on my S6 Avant & they did well in snow.

Default I was thinking of the General Exclaim UHP

They were rated #1 at tirerack. They also have a M+S rating: but they said don't use it as a winter tire. It is for "just in case" you happen to hit some. Which in Montana, I think it a great idea. Seems to be a quiet, long lasting tire, than can also handle bad weather. Oh, and they are affordable :-)

My problem is no one within 150+ miles carries General. Might buy a pair in Missoula or Spokane in a while.

Where in Montana are you located? I'm up in Whitefish.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&amp;tireModel=Exclaim+U HP">UHP on Tirerack</a></li></ul>
