Allright...I've narrowed down my tire choice to these 4...

Sure, we're arguing pretty small points. The S-03 is still a good tire, but it's among some pretty
stiff competitors these days. I'd still say that in relative terms, the T-1S, GS-D3, and PS2 are better tires. Nonetheless, the S-03s certainly aren't bad by any stretch.

Yea thats pretty much what I was saying....
They are great handling tires but I've had Toyo's T1S's and even at the end of their life they were more quite than my current S03's w/ 6k miles on them.
Also a friend of mine just tracked his S03's (e36 M3) and had them start seperating on him. In between treads....
I do agree they are good tires but when compared to the others...I'd say eliminate them.

I'm running the PS2s after coming off the S03s...
I haven't had them on very long, so I haven't pushed them yet. What little hard driving I have done, they should stack up to the S03 in dry grip. No wet testing yet. The S03s rocked in the wet. every time I drove in the rain, they impressed me.
So far the tire is much quieter than the wearing S03s (Duh). The ride may be a little softer, but not much at all.
I'm not sure I like the look of the PS4 on the S4. It kind of seems weak IMO.
We'll see how things go. Everyone I have talked with says they love the PS2s.

You're friend's experience is odd. I and others I know have tracked them with no problems.
I had them on at BeaveRun (very hard on tires) and Summit (moderate) last year, and they were very predictable and didn't separate/bubble/etc. Maybe your buddy ought to pursue a warranty claim with B-stone...

He's actually on the boards somewhere....
I was pretty surprised that they did split like that. I think it happened only on the tire that was being stressed the most on that particular track. I think he should at least take them to Bridgestone and ask what they think...he may have already?
At any rate, I can't stand the noise that the S03 produces and I've never had this type of noise this early or really at any wear level from any other tire. Including Yoko AVS Sports, Kuhmo Ecsta, Toyo T1s, Pilot Sports, nor the KDW2's I used to have. For a car that I use everyday its kind of hard to swallow that the S03 isn't a bit quieter. Although I will say that they have excellent grip especially in the wet.

The noise was bad, but only toward the end of their life.
The balance of the S03 was pretty bad also. Other than that, awesome tires. I can deal with the noise, as I recently drove to Vegas and back on just about toast S03s and it wasn't all that bad.
