Default Alright...suggestion and debate time, plain jane K04 homebrew setup

I have been reading the forum pretty religiously over the last couple of months trying to keep up with all the different homebrew setups. It seems that there are quite a few different setups out there. I have some straight up K04's, no porting, no clearancing, not hybrid comp wheels. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there like me who are 3- with no fueling. Eventually I'll go with some hybrids from Jacob or maybe even pop for a GT turbo kit, but for now, I'll be rocking the K04's. I've checked out the "kits" but I think I've decided to go with a homebrew setup (cost and tunability). So with that said, for OEM K04's, I would like suggestions for the following:
1. Injector size?
2. MAF housing size?
3. Hitachi or Bosch?
4. Intercoolers?
5. Giac 3-, X or XR software?
6. Darintake, X-1, other intake?
7. FPR?
8. Fuel Pump?
9. Run MBC in parallel or bypass the N75?

I have a TCD and manual boost controller and all the other supporting mods for 3-. I am currently running AMS software. Am I missing other mods to go full stg 3 with OEM K04's? I know this has been covered a thousand times, but it seems that every post has a small variable like hybrid turbos or someone was experimenting with bigger injectors or a different intake. What setup seems to be working best for OEM K04's?

Default 1)No smaller than 39#@3 bar or RS4s. 42#Greenies are good.

2)83-85mm. Doc's car uses 83mm and it's fast. I prefer 83mm for a couple of reasons.
3)Whatever you car already has.
4)If stock let boost taper to 17 or 18 psi by redline
5)Why not try the AMS software? You already have it.
6)Darintake. Proven at very high HP levels, great driveability, good air filter.
7)Stock unless you get injectors that are too small for 4 bar.
8)Stock here. No probs.

This is just my humble opinion and not a statement of fact.

Default i would......

1) #42 Bosch Green Giants
2) 85 mm MAF (Lightning or Autospeed)
3) Hitachi
4) RS4 or Silva IC's
5) GIAC X (or XR depending on gas you'll run)
6) Darintake mod (X1 racer if you wanna run open element filter)
7) no fpr
8) no pump
9) bypass N75, run a TCD and EBC (AVC-R or such) over TCD
10) add clutch (RS4?) and resurfaced FW, maybe phenolic spacers

Default Nice... Thanks for your answers!!! Question about X or XR inside...

I only have 91 at the pump but will be running 100 or 104 from time to time. Will I still be able to get the power by tuning the X chip for 104 compared to the XR chip?

What are your reasons for 83mm over 85mm MAF?

Default a few questions for you! more inside

1. where are you located?
2. which tuner shop is closer to you?
3. what kind of gas you can get locally?
4. what is your budget?
5. are you willing to do logging, tweaking and such

if you want to get the most bang for the bucks, then you might want to consider the followings:
basic homebrew straight K04, 85mm maf, greentop injectors, TCD, MBC parallel, good quality intercooler and X1-racer intake. that would be the most economical way to do.

if your modding funds is availible then consider K04/RS6, 88~90mm maf, siemen #60 injectors.

if you are not ready for logging and tooning then go straight to OTS kit, they are good good, may be even go to custom tune.

Its all about balance, once you go K04, the car is plenty fast and powerful just the matter of what you want or your expectation!

Hope this would help!

Default Bone stock looking, cheaper, keeps the g/s reading higher which is good for homebrew,

lighter, and cooler to the touch. J/K (sort of) about the last two.
