Alternator(s) woes continue - Getting ready to do 2nd swap in 2weeks
Looking for possible causes for 2nd Alternator pooping out other than just a bad rebuild...
Facts:
* Generates 14V all day long as long as revs stay below 2800-2900. If engine goes over that, Voltmeter goes down to 12V and Battery light comes on.
* 2-3 mins at Idle brings 14V back and light goes out and can hear load change on engine.
* Voltage checked with hand-meter at Alternator, Starter & Battery, all same.
* Ground connections checked.
* 2000MY with a Valeo.
I would really appreciate any thoughts or similar experiences. Thanks.
Tony

Wow, that sucks. While I'm no EE, I do have some electrical background, & it sounds
like just a shotty rebuild. I've got a MY2000 with Valeo E- codes, & no such issues. Mine runs ~14V all day whether at 1000rPM or 7000.
I would suggest demanding a 1 for 1 swap from the retailer where you bought the alt.
