It always amazes me how much crap comes off a "clean" car with a clay bar!

I just got done clay barring the Allroad and I am still amazed. I usually do this once a year before a wax job. The thing that gets me is that the car looks so clean and then you take a clay bar to it and tons of crap ends up on the clay. If you have not done this, I would highly recommend it. The car just shines better than it did the day you got it once it is waxed. Just thought that I would share what I did tonight.

Default I do it ~ twice a year with each wax but also spot treat after washes...

as the spots behind the wheels need it more often.

That is a great idea. I have never done that, but I may start.

That is a great analogy. Think your face is clean? Try again.

Default A tip for anyone who has never clay barred before.

Rub your hand across a freshly washed surface and you will feel a few bumps. Then take a clean zip-lock bag, stick your hand in it and rub it across that same spot. You will be amazed at how many more bumps you feel.

Default Yep...I clayed for the first time recently and the gloss is unbelievable.

Truly impressed with how easy it is to do too. Luckily with silver I can clay and wax and call it a day, and not spend more than a couple hours total...wash included.
