Am i a fool for thinking i can do an engine pull and turbo swap myself, never having done it before?

It's a nice washer! stainless tub, extra large, needed new brake pads and a cheap
plastic helix thing+pulley+belt, like $30 in parts
If I did scrap it, I would have saved the motor and pump, can't help myself there....
I'm probably in, can't think of any reason I can't go other than an emergency

You can do it, if you don't rush...
I took 3 weeks to do mine and it went smoothly in most areas. I chose to pull the engine from the front without the subframe. I did the job on Rhino ramps and rented a cherry picker. BTW, Harbor Freight has a nice engine hoist on sale right now for $150. Take your time, do the work at night during the quiet hours and don't skimp on the right tools. I recommend you take lots of pictures during the disassembly and get a bunch of coffee cans and label them for parts for different stages of the job. If you get stuck, you always have the board to fall back on for help. Good luck
