Default Another 2000 S4 Failed ABS unit. Ideas on where to pick up a new one?

Yup, count me in the ABS failure on 2000 club. I went over to a friends house tonight to have him take a gander at my car, discuss impending clutch Throw out Bearing replacement. On the way there got the 3 beeps, ABS light and blinking Brake light. Vag'd it (normally dont but was carrying my laptop) and got the 18014 rough road and the 01203 electrical connection, no signal-intermittant. I cleared the codes, carried on then on the way home it happened again. Vag'd as soon as I got home, couldnt connect to ABS through Vag, could connect to ECU, again, same rough road.

After searching it sounds as like a safe bet that I am now in the market for an ABS controller unit. I saw some people were covered even after warranty expired. I am beyond warranty @ 101k. So the least expensive option the better.

Thank you.

Default I paid tree-fiddy for the Bosch unit for wife's Saab from a Volvo/Saab salvager.

That sucker only lasted 75k, and the stealership wanted $3,150 for the new part. F*&#ing criminal. FWIW the job only took me a couple hours including bleeding the brakes.

Believe it or not, the service manager referred me to the salvager!

Default 2nd. I got a salvage unit for $250. Search the forums for install tips, since you only need to...

replace the electronics.

I believe so. In fact, I'm pretty sure that mine came out of an A4.

Default Mine is ModuleMaster right now...

If you have no luck finding a used replacement just remove the washer resivoir (tech article) and remove the 6 torx bolts holding the electronics to the ABS controller. I just did this last weekend and it was cake.
