Charles Maund Audi in Austin has a waiting list for S4 orders; I'm now #5 on the list, with expected order allocation coming my way in April. I might see the car in June or July. It'll be worth the wait, though. I just hope my current 10 year-old ride holds together that long.

I doubt that my exact configuration exists anywhere (Nogaro/Onyx+Blue + no other options). And, while I realize I could probably get the car a couple months sooner if I went to a dealership afar that has allocation now, I think I'd rather establish a relationship with the dealership that will be servicing the car.

So, has the AMA come up with an official name for the nervous disorder caused by waiting for the delivery of an S4? I think we need to start forming support groups. (Are any of the people that are before me on Maund's list reading this? Email me if you like.)

PS: rickp, I mentioned to Gordon at Maund that you had mentioned his name before in this forum, and he appreciated it.

At that time I was told my car could not be ordered until mid-January 2000. And I would have to wait until late February to early March for delivery. I've since been told that my Black/Onyx S4 will be made by 1/28/00. I just hope my 87 Towncar holds up until then.

Hey, I'm all for an Austin S4 club. I might even be able to convince my friend who runs the Austin Porsche 928 club web site to loan us some space for a site of our own. I envision frequent caravan runs up 1431 to Marble Falls.

I imagine it'll be a pretty small club at first; Gordon mentioned that Maund has only delivered *four* S4s so far. Couldn't tell from his waiting list cribsheet how many Austinites have their orders in already and are waiting for delievery.

There's also a Brilliant Black S4 that I've spied here at work for the past several weeks, who appears to be an Arizona transplant. His/her car says "Scottsdale Audi Performance" or somesuch on the windshield and appears to be lowered and has an aftermarket exhaust. I wouldn't be surprised if it was chipped, too.

The son of the owner of Whitbeck appliance took your spot and recently took delivery of a Silver S4...He explained to me that the powers that be at Cook jumped him to the front of the line, pushing others back...you are one of the others.

It makes perfect sense by what you were told...

Besides that I needed the extra time to get enough money to pay for the S4.
