Default Another S4'er lost to the WRX - so long and thanks for all the fish!

Quite a crowd here I must say. I've mostly been a lurker for the past year or so, but this board has been invaluable for getting lots of good info on my S4. You didn't hear too much from me 'cause most of my questions had been answered many times before - and I know how to click "search" ;-)

Anyway, I got a helluva deal on a WRX wagon, so I had to do it. I figure it only cost me about $4000 to drive my S4 for a year (13K miles), so what the hell - why not trade! The S4 was great, but I don't miss it at all. There are definately things I miss *about* it, but overall I'm completely happy with the Soob.

For those of you contemplating buying a WRX, here's my initial impressions, and things I miss about the Audi and like about the WRX.

The S4 wins here:
- Sunroof - I really with the rex had one.
- Turbo Lag - There was hardly any on the S4...
- Leather/Power/Heated Seats
- 6th gear
- Trip computer
- Xenons
- Overall luxury
- Most S4 owners are at least old enough to vote & drink

But, with the WRX I do like:
- the extra room (Had I bought an Avant a year ago, maybe I wouldn't have traded...)
- The weight - hey, I lost 500lbs today!
- Handling -stock it's about the same as the S4
- The shifter - even without a SS it feels more solid than the S4
- Being able to add just about every option under the sun for like $1200 (!)
- Cheap mods (what? a good short shifter for $120?!?!?)
- Interior I like as much as the Audi, even with the cloth seats. They are comfy, and aftermarket leather can be had for < $1000
- Better gas milage (maybe)
- Did I mention all the cheap mods & accessories?
- Haven't seen anyone named Jessica posting over at i-world :-o
- And of course the extra $10K in my wallet plus cheaper insurance and taxes...

Well, at least my girl has an A4, so I can get some of that good Audi mojo when I need it

Later guys, it's been real!

Default You forgot to mention looks...Never seen anybody say "nice WRX, sweet looking car"

But still, despite the fact that it looks worse than a fat chick after a severe beating, I kinda want one.

No it doesn't. It's an ugly car in any color, IMHO. Still a sweet car tho.

Default Here are some pics of my "fat chick after a severe beating"...

Sorry, they come in two sizes: big and huge (fat chicks and these pictures.) If you have less than a T1 click on the _sm versions!!!!

You gotta admit its a unique looking car. Kind of along the same lines as saying the M coupe is a unique car... Ugly, but unique in any case Ah, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Can you belive I thought the S4 was fugly when I first saw it??? (in a magazine anyway...) Of course then I was driving a Volvo 850T and really liked the "boxy-but-safe" lines.

http://www.nhskihouse.com/soob/</a
