I STFA, and I really want a definite answer from someone who knows a lot about this topic.
I have an '01 S4, stock suspension. I'd like to put on 17x8 Rial Nogaro wheels with 225/45/17 in the fronts and 245/40/17 in the rear.
I tried to fit them on with my friend's set -- and the front hit the caliper. Even with a 5mm spacer, it still hit. 8mm would be very close, but 10mm clears it. The control arm in the back is 1/8th of an inch from the tire in the back so I'm probably going with 5mm spacers in the rear and 10mm spacers in the front.
a) Where can I get a good deal on hubcentric spacers and extended lugnut bolts?
b) Is this safe?
Thoughts, opinions, anything is appreciated.
