Default For any Bosch Motronic / chip tuning experts, I have a question!

I understand that in the S4 the ECU is programmed to achieve a certain torque or load value, which it estimates based on the MAF signal. So when it gets cold enough out and the air is denser, the MAF signal is higher and the computer may cut boost slightly to not go above it's preset torque level. Bummer there. But what I'm wondering is, when you add say downpipes and exhaust, which will increase airflow through the engine, why wouldn't the airflow gain be defeated by the engine management when the MAF signal increases beyond the preset load value (just like when it is cold out) - i.e wouldn't the computer again cut boost,
and the power you can make is ultimately limited by this preset load/torque value? If not please explain!

Default Good questions! My guess is everybody who has mod downpipe already have a chip?

As I recall the stageI chip needs to be reporgramed for stage II+ right?

Default

not so much about increased flow, it's more efficient combustion, less reversion and lower temps

Default nope, same chip for stage 1 and stage 2

stage 2+ i think really doens't benefit from more boost

although lower cylinder temps could let you run a litle more boost or timing

*I* think that the more efficient combustion makes up the difference..not so much the tuning

Default This also brings up the question about the S-Flow...

Lets say it does increase airflow, wouldn't the MAP only pump enough fuel up to the max preset power level, so anymore flow is usless right?

You going to be in that drive this weekend?

Default remains to be seen, if the stock intake is causing a strain on the induction system or not

can't go..going to a wedding...zzzzzzzz snore

Default So the question is if the stock set up is holding back any?

If the stock intake is flowing more then the MAP needs to achive max power then more flow would be useless right?

Default that's what I think..unless the restriction is causing the turbo's to be less efficient

I think that the idea the EVERY CAR MAKER

builds ****ty or "compromised" intakes or exhaust systems is

OLD SCHOOL or "old wives tales"

it's not ALWAYS the case
