I'm seriously thinking of doing a 6 sp conversion. With the new K04s in place, I really want to tap into their full potential. My car has no significant resale value due to it's mileage anyway (162k and counting). Might as well put money into the car and have fun (lots of it) instead of buying something many times it's cost for similar performance. For Stage 3, what cars are in that performance category anyways?

I have had about 2 months and one track event on mine.
On the track it is very noticeable... car is in the power way more often and I find myself not waiting for the boost as much.
As for the street and normal driving, if you really pay attention you will notice the shorter gearing but it is nowhere near enough to be a bother. The hole in 3 gear goes away and acceleration is quicker. I have not done any 1/4 mile times as of yet, so I have no hard numbers, just the seat of my pants.
I would do it all over again and for me it is worth it. If you need more info, feel free to e-mail me.... also where are you located?

...esp. given my liking to pull it out of the bag on the freeway, but on the right race track I can see it being a great advantage. At Texas World Speedway, it's too short IMO for a lot of the track and would just leave you often flying out of a corner as you redline in 3rd, then having to shift to 4th for maybe a second or two, and back down to 3rd for the next corner. I'd gladly take the slightly shorter RS4 1.32 3rd though (compared to our S4 1.23 3rd).
If I need to get my transmission done ever, I'll try to get the STaSIS, upgrade, but with the RS4 1.32/1.03 3rd and 4th sets, and leave my 5th gear alone.
If I can do 100mph at redline in 3rd now, the RS4 would still let me see 93mph at redline in 3rd, but the allroad 3rd would only do 87mph in 3rd. And at 63mph (the speed at which I shift out of 2nd), the RPMs for the three would be about 4500 for the S4 box, 4800 for the RS4 box, and 5100 for the allroad box. I'll take the middle one.
