Default I found limited info on that tire, but it appears too wide for an 8" wheel.
Tring to decipher Toyo's spec sheet and it looks like the 255/40/17 RA1 has a section width of 10.4 inches. The tread width is probably in the 9.2-9.5 range... regardless, that's way too wide for an 8" wheel if you're going to turn right or left with it. For street driving or drag racing it's not a big deal, but you might have funny treadwear.

Cool, FWIW, I run roughly that dimension tire on a 9.5" wheel.

Default someday i will get some custom wheels made up so i can go wider...
but for cheap and easily sourcable these do good for me, i do agree that wider is optimal.
