The comments of cool-aid, etc... was illustrating exaggeration...
I'm not trying to say they are bad, I watch BET, I drink cool-aid, I eat chicken wings...and that's why I don't find that offensive.
Of course I know everyone who goes to the tunnel does not fit that prejudice. I was using that as one end of the extreme. You said people who watch MTV don't know what good music is, I believe SOME people who watch MTV, SOME people who watch BET and some people who watch what ever music station may not know what good music is, but Flex plays music what his audience will "feel". He plays hip-hop b/c that's what his fans like. People who live hip-hop will not agree with your statement about him being weak.

Seriously, if you're into scratching at all, listen to some of their stuff. It's just a start, but those are some of the best.
You probably know Bad Boy Bill right (being a techno DJ)? Well way back in like '89 he was a hip-hop DJ, and also won the DMCs... but in a quite unorthodox fashion...he pulled out his dick and used it on the cross fader.

man he is a legend in chicago (where i am from). met him many a times, and he comes to Avalon in Boston and tears it up with scratching...and this is mostly a trance club too!
he got me started mixing, with all the original booty house chi-town beats! great dj for sure...now he has madd skills!
