Anybody know how the Dension iPod adapter messes up the CD Changer?
Ever since I got the car, the CD Changer hasn't worked. I don't have an iPod. There's a Dension adapter in the glove box that must lead to the Symphony head unit.
I'm trying to install a Phatbox in place of the CD Changer. -It doesn't work either.
I suspect that the Dension has been connected in a way that steals the juice from the CD Changer cable.
Anybody know or have links to pics of where this connection is most likely to be causing grief?
I have the cool tools in the mail for removing the Symphony head unit. I'm hoping it will be obvious when I pull it out. However, I would really appreciate if somebody could help me get a jump on it.
Thank you.

Basically when you install any kind of ipod hookup to a factory stereo...
the only way it works is by "tricking" your HU into thinking that the ipod is a CD changer allowing you to use your factory controls in controlling the ipod.
Hopefully whoever installed it just simply unplugged the CD changer and left the cord in the back so all you have to do is unplug the Dension adapter and plug back in your CD changer...

You will have to decide whether you want a CD changer or a Dension hooked up.
I like mine, but I never use my CD changer because the HU holds 5 CDs. The Dension has a circuit board that convert IPOD controls into CD changer language.

Now I have a Dension for Sale if anybody wants it.
OK. That was way too easy. Once I had the Symphony out, it was just a matter of disconnecting the red clips and reconnecting the black clip from the CD Changer.
My Phatbox is now working. Thank you for your help.
