Anyone cut out precats & weld in piping as opposed to gutting?

no relocation needed. There have been two proposals for CEL defeat recently...
moving the O2 out of the exhaust stream (somebody finally did this ... I think it was KOPork?)
Use a virtual O2 signal for the 2nd sensor that simply adds an offset to the 1st sensor. Somebody posted this recently - cost was < $50.

I figure the gains wouldn't be much if any, but it just seems easier & cleaner -
and if/when I have a shop frankenstein-a-fy my stock DPs, I'm sure its a lot easier to ask them to weld in a new section of pipe than to gut them. If they just gut the stockers, who knows how good of a job they'd do.
