Default Anyone else using these? Aerocatch shear pin latch.

First I thought to just clue it under as it looked much better that way but then I thought if the latch would brake it could not be replaced so I used the small bolts that came with the package. If anyone has had these in very cold weather without problems I would just use the clue.

Need to find better bolts as these seem to rust?

aerocatch

Default for cold climates on let say a hood...

if that lil guy gets filled up with rain water or melt water and then over night it freezes, that lil guy might not want to pop open so easily. Granted the odds of you needing to open it when its frozen shut are slim, but it something I would take the time to consider if you are in a cold climate and the car might be left outside or driven in freezing rain.

Looks like a great piece for a hood for warm weather, probably a lot more aerodynamic than the sparco pins I use now.

I may be wrong, but there appears to be a drain hole in it.

Default you should have gone with the top mount design in that case, the bottom mount is designed to have

the studs bonded into the hood during fab. so when the clip is slid up and into place, you can thread a nut on and hold it down...

that said, I don't believe you will ahve probelms if you select the correct adhesive for the hood material and the aerocatch. there are some very strong panel bonding soltions out there that should ahve zero trouble holding that together.

Default but so does everything else that opens,,, at my winter house(Lake Placid, NY) If I leave the car

outside for the night every single door is sealed shut by the morning,, passenger doors, gas cover, everything.

sure, these would prob. freeze shut as well, but that's why there are heated garages. if you don't have one, a few minutes of hard running with all the heat our motor belts out should be all it takes.

Default I can put it from upside to the hole but I'm not sure that looks so good.

+ I do have an warm garage so the freesing will not be the problem but possible plastic snapping if I need to open it when its very cold.
