anyone else's steering wheel squeak?

There is an annoying squeak that occurs intermittently whenever I turn my steering wheel to the right. Sounds like chalk squeaking against a chalkboard. It appears to be coming from around the right front air vent. Even stranger, if I turn my heater/fan off, the squeaking stops.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas what it could be?

Yes...HVAC fan...got it replaced this week.

My steering wheel just started to squeak .. I think it has to do with the cold; time will tell.

mine does the same thing, except it happens when I turn to the left.

Not anymore...dealer replaced spiral spring after second time I complained.

Mine and my friends starting doing this a few weeks ago. It's really intermittent though...

Next time it goes to the dealer for service, I'm gonna have them look at it. Mine sounds more like a groan... and it does it even when the car is turned off and the steering wheel is moved back & forth.
