Anyone ever heard of a turbo timer?????? (more)
Buddy of mine wanted to know if I had a turbo timer on my car???? He said that if the turbos are oil cooled that I need to think about getting a turbo timer because if I just turn of the engine without cooling the turbos down it will do damage to them.
Sounds reasonable, but not sure if it is true with the S4. I would assume that if Audi was to warranty a car for 5/50K that they would have this as part of the car if it was going to cause damage to the turbos.
Anyone know?

You don't *need* it, but if you can't manage to do your own "cool down" before shutting your car off
then get one
Just drive calmly the last min or so before you get to your destination... meaning, don't dip into boost.. use 1/4 throttle or something... then wait 15-30s after you stop and let it idle.. then shut off.
If you weren't driving hard in the first place, you don't really need to cool-down.
But an extra 15-30s after you stop usually won't kill you, and is generally good peace of mind, if nothing else

Agreed... and some of my own questions..
My problem is, that I'm not sure it's worth messing with your electrical system to make myself a little more lazy. I have a greddy sitting here I still haven't installed.
