Default End of this month in Chattanooga, right?

Yeah, I'd be down if I'm in town. That'd be cool. Easter weekend I'll be going home to Atlanta, and my g/f's b'day is that weekend, but if it's any other time, sure. I'm in Nashville, which is only 2 hours from Chatty, so it would be easy to gtg. Figure out the dates and LMK.

If it works out, you'll have to let me take you out for some grub or the like as thanks for your past endeavors.

Cheers,
patrick

Default to go further...

I've seen shock dyno plots of the dampers, I've seen spring measurements of the springs, I've look over part number on control arms and bushings, nothing is *that* different.

It all points to a different rack as far as I can tell, cuase that's what it *feels* like.

8D1 422 052 L = RS4 Steering Rack, LHD, ZF

Default Maybe something about the rack other than the ratio? Very interesting

though. Wonder how much we can find them for?

Default let me see...Europe, Salvage Yard, RS4...

...not the first 3 elements of a small dollar amount.

The REAL ticket would be if someone savy could find ONE, figure out what's different, then just buy that part from ZF and rebuild the racks to RS4 specs.

One can only dream...

Default Later S4's, post 8D-X-303 809, have the same rack as the RS4, very early ones appear to have...

8D1 422 052G - Steering Gear, the rest in the US list 8D1 422 052L (LX) - Steering Gear (PR-1BV - Sports Running Gear, Lowered 30mm).

That VIN split is early '99 build.

Cheers,
