Anyone experience a metal knocking or "clicking" sound with their Stoptechs???
I'm getting a really bad click/grinding sound from my brake system....mostly in the front left wheel. I've got the Stoptech BBK 355mm. It's been doing it for quite some time now, and started out with only a small intermittent "clicking". Now, it's just a bunch of continuously ticking/grinding sounds as the car moves faster. The noises stop if I press on the brake pedal, or if I am at a complete stop. The noise is more audible when driving at slow speeds with the windows down.
I'm going to replace my rotors tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone has had the same experience. My buddy tells me it may be the retaining pins, but I'm not completely sure yet.
Also....do I need brand new pads if I'm changing my rotors? Will used pads bed in the rotor improperly? Any advice is appreciated.

I hear that some of those floating rotor systems can be disconcertingly loud...
I heard a Porsche owner talking about the PCCB brakes on his car... said everytime he hits the brakes it sounds like something is falling off the car, but that's just how they sound.

I had this problem - stoptech changed the design for the clips that hold the pads ....
my shop removed the calipers and bent in the clips to make it a more secure hold on the pads - if you have had your stoptechs for over 2 years you likely have the old design - it is a very easy fix but the calipers have to be removed - what you are likely hearing is the pads bouncing around not the floating rotors
