I have a silver/silver and although the silver looks great new and when clean. It shows any dirt and as the seats get wear, creases and lines appear and are very visible. Silver just ages and wears much worse than Black or the alcantara interiors IMHO.
I had a pearl white 93 90CS with black leather and it looked fantastic the day I sold it in 99.

... and the leather looks as good as new. I have uncountable milk spills, a melted orange crayon (I almost cried), crackers, shoe prints, dog drool, etc. and you'd never know it by looking in my car. Just need to use a simple spray cleaner and wipe 'em down once a month or so -- good advice for any color leather. I use high-end products like Lexol, but found the stuff Audi carries (with the Audi name on the label) is actually pretty good too. I also condition a couple times a year to keep it soft.

I had the same experience with my wifes Melange (light tan) interior in her A6. It just looks worn after not a very long time, and we do clean and treat the leather about once a month or two. Black just held up better in my experience.

This seems like a common sense thing. Everything white discolors gets stained looks dingier than anything black over time with normal use.
