Default But the purpose of this product is to plug the leak so that doesn't happen.

It's difficult to imagine that the company can have been in business since 1947 making a product that doesn't do what it's advertised to do.

Default Marvel Mystery Oil has been in production that long, too.

Not sure that really proves anything. At any rate, you need to figure out what is in it. If it's anything like what I've seen, it's copper or some other metallic substance that could just wreak havoc on your engine internals.

Default I have concerns about trying something like this, I just wanted to get some feedback on

people's actual experiences with the stuff. The lone feedback from someone that has used this particular brand sounds positive. Not that I will or will not use the stuff at this point, but if it works as advertised, a couple bucks to plug the leak is more attractive than the cost of an engine pull and tear down trying to find the source, that so far has eluded some costly guesses at what the problem is.

Default Understood, but if you have a bad block casting or some bad seals, wouldn't you rather replace them

than have heaven-knows-what floating around in your engine/turbos for the next 100,000 miles?

Dont ever put that stuff in a cooling system. If it was meant to be put in there, then the manufacturer would do it. It can stop up small holes and coolant orifices in the system that are needed for proper operation.

Default I've read some stuff that suggests there are some auto manufacturers that put

it in the coolant from the factory. I don't know if it's true or not, but we shouldn't assume that some don't put it in without any real information.

this is a really late response, but if you havent done the bars stop leak yet... dont, if anything use the stop leak called alumaseal, much better product, and its not as harmful to your engine. I used to run a shop, and whenever i had a customer who couldnt afford replacing components, and needed to buy time, that was the only stuff that seemed to work. of subject but useful for anyone, Lucas makes great power steering stop leak,
