Anyone have AWE SMIC's in stock? Or galactic backorder?

what about those ER ICs?
They are about the same price range I think. I actually have been looking into a set of the AWEs for immediate install. The new ERs are nice but it looks like the AWEs are proven to be very effective.

Not available yet.. waiting on CF shrouds to be finished
I exchanged emails with them a few weeks back.. two different kits. One with just intercoolers, one with new piping, and cf shrouds. IIRC it was $1100-1400ish for the two. WAY bigger then AWE as well. Looked promising anyways. They said to contact their distributors.. WMS I think?

I'm wondering how important the CF shrouds are.
Wouldn't the stock shrouds work equally well without the added cost of bling CF shrouds? I saw the pictures of these things. The core is very thick. Can it be too thick? I have been searching for logs or published numbers but cant find any.

which means it's as good/better/worse than AWEs?
I've seen a few of your posts regarding the technical aspects of ICs and would appreciate your input. I hope to upgrade ICs soon and dont want to make an expensive mistake. TIA

Here is what ER sent me a few weeks back...
Thank you for your inquiry in our products.
Yes, we are in the final stages of R&D and the B5 S4 SMIC Upgrade Kit will be available very soon. Basically we are waiting for the carbon fiber shrouds which is being subcontracted out. We have already begun the first production run.
There will be 2 versions of the SMIC kit, the Basic Kit and the Full Kit. The Basic Kit includes the SMIC and all the hardware needed for installation. You will require you to modify the OEM shrouds or run no shrouds. The Full Kit will include everything in the Basic Kit as well as carbon fiber shrouds and new intercooler piping. MSRP for the Basic Kit is $1,395 (retail around $1,100-1,200). MSRP for the Full Kit is $1,595 (retail for around $1,400-1,500).
Currently, we do not have a waiting list. It first come first serve with our dealers. Try contacting our dealers to see if they have a waiting list.
