Default Anyone have info about external antennas?

I am tired of the poor reception with the stock radio. My S4 came with the factory phone option. I have since disabled the phone. I still have the window mount antenna. I wonder if I could replace this with a multifunctioning antenna that would receive AM/FM/digital phone. Any help with this?

Default Think of getting XM?

Reception is great! Unless in a tunnel or something.

Default Actually, I've wondered much the same thing...

But not really about FM/AM, rather CB instead. No way do I want to go driving around with some gawdy whip antennae for a CB, but I know how useful CB can be on long trips (V1 or 8500 only goes so far, it's nice to know what's coming up ahead, whether it's law enforcement, accidents, traffic, etc). But if one of those aesthetically acceptable cell phone antennaes could be modified to use for CB, that would be great. I tried looking into external antennaes when I first bought the car but didn't get very far because there wasn't much information out there.

I don't really use the radio in the S4 much except in the morning to listen to some news (since I usually go with CD's), and it has worked fine for me for that so far. So I guess I really don't need boosted FM/AM reception, but again, the concept of using the external cell phone antennae for that is similar to wondering if it can be used for CB. So if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

It's diversified. One might be bad, making reception lame. You under warranty still?

Default Just did another search and found this...has multiple kinds of antennas...CB, FM/AM, etc.

I don't know anything about them, but I don't remember finding that site before. They do in fact have a cellphonelookalike antennae for CB, and I did notice at least one FM/AM antennae in there that you could look at.

http://www.firestik.com/</a

Default I did some research on this- - - >

I have a similar problem with poor reception.

I decided to look into roof mount antenna's ala the VW.

Zender makes a good looking one. I ended up getting a OEM Fuba base with three different whips. The stock one, a stock looking whip that is about 8" long and the short JOM aluminum whip.

I Haven't installed it yet so I can't report on the reception. Hopefully do it tomorrow.
