Default Fair enough, and I don't mean to put down anyone's efforts.

It's just that any safety rule should be carefully considered because it has the driver's best interests in mind.

Default The Chassis are pulled of the factory line mid-assembly and sent to Audi Sport UK.

Where they work with the factory CAD designs and engineers to lighten the cars. Take out material that is non structural and add the safety cage which is also FIA certified. They then take out structural material where the cage replaces it.

The chassis is then shipped to us on a crate and looks like the first three pictures. They call this a chassis in white.

We have also built cars in house as well. Jeff Courtney's (#99) car was built in house and started life as a B6 chassis. The car was converted to a B7 by way of new body panels this year. The chassis are the same between the B6 and B7 so it is a cosmetic upgrade.

We then send the chassis and body panels out for paint. Once it is back from paint we build the cars from the ground up to what you see on the track today. All in house. We have crew members that came from BAR F1, FIA GT and ALMS programs.

Once the cars are built we then focus on development of the cars. Essentially, getting every last bit out of them, reliably. From testing several front splitter designs (all made in house) to making the cars reliable in race trim. There are many different aspects to making a winning car. All very time consuming but well worth it in the end.

Our crew has spent many sleepless nights working 20 hour days for weeks on end to make our program what it is today. Without this team effort we would not have been able to have 3 wins, 1 second place, 6 top tens and 3 track records in 9 races. We will be working towards a Drivers and Manufactures Championship for 08 to try and put Audi on top in SPEED World Challenge TC for the first time.
