Default Anyone have a sound clip of the APR (latest generation) exhaust?

Trying to decide between Scorpion, Forge/Milltek & APR.

Anyone want to sway me one way or the other?

Me three... but I am thinking about Miltek/APR v2 or keep the VM2.

Default All of them virtually sound the same . . .

at least between Milltek & APR v2 that is. Haven't heard Scorpion (yet) but Milltek & APR sound *almost* exactly the same = VERY QUIET w/lower tone.

Default I have the Milltek, and had the APR v1, and beyond the sound differences...

Both are nicely built, but my APR tips turned golden, and rocks got stuck on the top of the tips and I could never get them out! (Despite flossing them, and polishing w/ everything possible etc.). That always bothered me a bit. :P

I heard the APR v2 paired w/ their downpipes, and while it was quieter it still droned enough to bother me. I love the Milltek, although it did take longer to tweak to get it's fitment right (3 pieces vs. 2).

Default In my eyes, both the APR and the Milltek have their advantages...

Here's my thinking process (as scary as it is)...

Milltek Pro's:
+ Tips are canted to follow the contour of the rear bumper valence.
+ Don P. & Leslie (among others) give it a thumbs-up. (Yes, I value the opinions of some folks that I've read countless posts by).

Milltek Con's:
- Price
- 3-piece exhaust perhaps more problematic (i.e., leaks)
- Reports of exhaust leaks by some users. Hopefully this problem has been rectified by now.

APR Pro's:
+ 2-piece exhaust....fewer places for leaks (may or may not be true).
+ Cheaper than Milltek
+ Looks nicer than Milltek from the photos I've seen of both systems.

APR Con's:
- Tips are both the same length (this is obviously a personal preference).

Default Well...

I agree w/ some of what you summarized, although I wouldn't let a $200 difference sway your decision. It was greatly worth my peace in the cabin (and I actually lost quite a bit more on re-selling). Try and find someone who has at least one of them to gauge your preference for sound.

IMHO, the Milltek looks better however. I really like how the Milltek tips look, and they didn't turn gold or have lots a little rocks stuck in them! :P

I think both are going to be just as prone to leaking. You really need to take the same measures for both of them (I know both of mine have)....

And I appreciate you valuing my opinion. ;-)

Default I have the APR V1 and have none of leslies probs, I'm replacing something something a bit quieter

Remember it's for sale, check the classifieds, it's negotiable. But the APR is the loudest of all the exhausts on this board, as far as I'm concerned.

Default None of my problems? :P Yeah, and you probably don't drive a Volvo either, do you? ;-)

Seriously, you've never gotten rocks in the tips? Hmm, not sure where you live, but they do coat our roads w/ rocks in the winter... And if yours haven't turned gold, I must be Queen Midas. :P These paled to my issues w/ the sound level of course...
