Default All your blown trannys are belong to us?

What, does Audi offer a chip in Germany, or are you talking about there's no tip RS4?

Default Why wouldn't it be safe?

Has anyone actually damaged a tiptronic transmission by modifying their ECU? I don't think I've read about it.

All the chip providers, including Garrett and APR, say that Stage II is cool. The ZF rating for the tranny is less than 10 percent less than the tranny's rated torque figure, and that 340 number is based on making the tranny last 100,000 miles.

I get 75,000 miles out of the tranny, I'll be more than pleased. That's more than 6 years of driving for me--I'll go to an S8 tranny when the time comes. Maybe then I'll go for Stage III?

Default Judging by the failure rates, it's safer than a chipped 6-speed. :)

Seriously, I had a stage 2 Tip for about a year and about 13000 miles with zero problems. Worked out fine for me.

Default And why would you conclude that they don't do so based on performance criteria?

It is just as likely that they presume that they will most likely sell 2.7tt motor'd cars to people who want manuals, so they don't bother putting the other pairing together.

ZF certainly doesn't tell them not to pair them up.
