Anyone here ever lose a race to a WRX?
I raced one last night and beat it. My S4 avant is stock. It was pretty close up to about 60mph then I really pulled away. I'm curious if his car was stock or not. Anyone here had a similar experience?

Wife has a WRX
I have an A4, hopefully soon an S4.
Anyway, stock WRXs "should" be low 14 second cars, about the same as a stock S4. 4th and 5th on the WRX are extremely long, 4th is already an overdrive! So WRX is not a hwy top-end machine at all.
WRX with "stage0" type mods, basically manual boost controller, are into the 13s, so like the S4 they have a lot of potential.
Very different type of car though, not nearly same level interior or fit and finish, but definitely fun. =)

i race a friend of mine that had intake and exhaust and i raced him once with a chip in my s4 and
killed him with out any problems. Then i took the chip out and raced him with just the exhaust and i beat him by maybe a car 1/2. But he aslo isn't the best driver!

with a chipped TIP its even up to 60 and he gets me from a roll(stock) but after 65ish its really NO contest, my buddy was ahead about half car lenght ahead got he jump too from 40ish, by 100 I was over 2 cars ahead.

Lots of stuff..
Bigger turbo(VF30?), complete replacement of the fuel system (VISHNU), unichip, nitrous, full huge exhaust with no cats, intake, some larger IC I think the STI one (not FMIC), some big radiator. That's pretty much it for performance, but let me tell you the car feels like a rocket and it's just begun to untap it's potential. I expect the trans to go any day now. Probably right after he puts in the new centerforce clutch.
