Anyone here ever replaced the lower bolts on the shifter by a non-OEM bolt?
My lower bolt in the shifter box is almost stripped (the one you adjust when installing a short shifter)... Audi told me that they are not selling this part (the one above yes, not the one lower down) alone and the chief technician told me a pseudo-compatible bolt from Home Depot wouldn't do the job because of the shape and design of the shift arm (to my big surprise)!! Is that BS? Anybody here ever replaced this bolt my a non-OEM one?

I ordered the Audi part from the parts department, and got a regular M8x25 hex bolt........
So, yes it works. Just go to home depot. If anyone knows how and where to get the allen bolts, I would still like to have the correct factory parts in there.
