There's definitely some disconnect here, these cars are biased heavily toward understeer.

Just by coincidence, at lunch today at a winter meeting of PCA track folks I sat next to a very experienced instructor whose street car is a stock '01 S4. I asked him if he ever tracked his Audi, and he said he did once, just to see how it would do. He said once was enough, it was interesting, but the understeer was so severe that he wouldn't do it again without significant suspension work.

Pretty much what I expected him to say. All street cars are biased toward understeer, and our Audis have a fairly extreme front weight bias.

He did say though that it's a phenominal street car, which I already knew. Actually, looking around the parking lot (there were 100+ people at the meeting) it was interesting to see that there were more Audis than any make, with the possible exception of Porsche.

Probably the quality of the tires...full tread tires that aren't good..will drive very poorly
