Default Anyone install a Magellan 750NAV ?

I wanted the nav option for my S4 but got one without instead. Being the gadget freak that I am I'm considering a 3rd party product. A collegue of mine just bought a Magellan 750NAV and the quick demo he gave me looked pretty good. One of the advantages over other systems is that you can now get all maps for the US included if you buy in March. Saves $550 or so. Also, no swapping CDs here since it stores info on an internal hard disk. Install seems pretty easy since all it needs is power. No VSS hookup although I wouldn't be afraid of that either.

Anyway, anyone?

The link below compares some common nav systems. I was considering the CarIn and Alpine as well.

Thanks,

Default no nav here either, but a friend of mine showed me this today, and i think i must have it ....

this looks like it blows away other gps thingers like the garmins. bet you could find some way to make a removable dash mount or something.

http://www.datusinc.com</a

Default Yeah I read about this one too

Not bad but it gets expensive if you want more map coverage then one region. It also doesn't have vehicle speed input or a gyroscope so it's accuracy is less then the 750nav and other units. I didn't see if the Datus has a 'road-snap' feature so that it corrects itself by figuring out what road you're on and not 100 ft. next to it.

Thanks for your feedback!

Default That comparison table is inaccurate

I have the CarIn 522 system in my car. There are a number of inaccuracies in the CarIn column in the table. The following items have a 'No' when they should have a 'Yes'.

Multi-language*
Multi-gender voice command*
Address book
Time to destination
Manual route recalculation
Repeat last voice command

* the multi-language and multi-gender voice features require a separate language CD to be inserted which wasn't available when I got my unit.

In addition, the table claims that the 522 has cell phone integration. As far as I know, it doesn't.

There are probably features not listed in the table at all such as the ability in the 522 to select from up to 45 destination categories (things like restaurants, hotels, rest areas, gas stations, etc).

Beware comparisons from one company's marketing department!
