You know there is a rediculously small amount of space under the ashtray tray perfect for a nickel's thickness.
I've done this 3 times asking the dealer. How the hell do you get the ashtray drawer to come out if it is "frozen" in the closed position?
I figured I'd ask since you are already there.

...I pulled the shifter trim plate back so I could actually get underneath the ashytray door. I was then able to wiggle the offending piece of debris out of the way and free the ashtray.
